Taupo Rugby Sub-union
Junior rugby is available to all children from primary and intermediate school whatever size, skill or gender.
The Junior rugby season starts with registrations in March. Games kick off after the Easter school holidays and the season goes through to August with breaks for Queens Birthday and July School holidays.
Games are played from 10 am on Saturday mornings at Owen Delany Park.
Our clubs:
Titans (silver/maroon): Taupo Primary, Mt View Primary and Kura Papa
Barbarians (black/white): Waipahihi, Waitahanui and Rangataiki
Giants (green): Hilltop, LTCS, Tauhara and Broadlands
Wasps (blue/yellow): Wairakei, St Pats and Marotiri.
Tongariro (red/black): Tongariro area, Kuratau and Hirangi.
Intermediate grade teams: Titans, Giants, Barbarians, Dragons and Rebels.
Our Grades
Under 7 5-7 year olds playing rippa rugby on half field
Under 9 7-9 year olds getting introduced to tackle on half field.
Under 11 9-11 year olds playing tackle on full field
Intermediate grade 11-13 year olds playing tackle on full field.
